East Bay Open Studios Artist: Mikey Kelly

Mikey Kelly received his Master of Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2003. He lived in New York for six years where he worked as a fabricator for various artists and created retail displays for Urban Outfitters, Barney’s and Bergdorf Goodman and interiors for The Ace and Standard Hotels. In 2009 Mikey returned to Napa to work for internationally renowned artist Gordon Huether as Project Manager and Fabricator of many large scale public and private art commissions. Mikey struck out on his own opening his studio in 2012.

His work has been exhibited at Franklin Parrasch Gallery in New York City, Yountville’s Art Walk and at the inaugural stARTup Art Fair. His work is in the collections of Cranbrook Museum of Art, University of Hawaii at Hilo, Frankel Foundation for Art and in the collection of Burt Aaron, Founding Director of MOCA Detroit.
